Today is one of the hardest days I have experienced in a long time.
Yesterday, I was asked to leave my job. Overnight, I became unemployed, and I still don't know how to process it. I feel lost, uncertain, and deeply discouraged.
The reason given for my dismissal was that I slept in the break room for about 30 minutes.
The night before, my child had a high fever. I stayed awake most of the night taking care of them and got very little sleep. The next day at work, exhausted from the lack of rest, I closed my eyes for a short time, hoping to regain enough energy to continue working.
Instead, I lost my job.
What makes this even harder to understand is that I had only been with the company for 23 days. I was hired for a marketing position, but I never even had the chance to fully begin the work I was brought in to do. I had not caused any major problems or made serious mistakes.
Because of that, I cannot help but wonder if there was another reason behind the decision—something I was never told.
Right now, I feel lonely, disappointed, and heartbroken. I joined the company hoping for a fresh start, but that opportunity ended much sooner than I ever expected.
I do not know what comes next. But I hope that one day I can look back on this moment and see it not only as an ending, but also as the beginning of something better.
For now, though, today is simply a very difficult day.
Have you ever lost a job for an unexpected reason, or experienced a sudden change that completely altered the direction of your life?
If so, I would love to hear your story. How did you get through that difficult time, and what helped you move forward?
Maybe your experience can bring some comfort and hope to someone who is struggling today.
